You are here: Home / news / New publication – Lodging resistance in Brassica napus

22nd June 2018 by Klaus Wellner

Lodging – patches in the field laid flat by wind and rain – can reduce the yield of crops considerably. This paper is looking for underlying genetic factors that influence mechanical properties, stem dimension, and tissue structure which help plants stay upright.

Miller C. N., Harper, A. L., Trick, M., Wellner, N., Werner, P., Waldron, K. W., and Bancroft, I., Dissecting the complex regulation of lodging resistance in Brassica napus, Molecular Breeding 38:30 (2018).
